We’re excited to introduce readers to one of the most recent voices to join the Genius Publishing family — crime and mystery author Jack Fredrickson, whose upcoming release The Big Touch arrives March 20.
Jack is the author of the popular Dek Elstrom mystery series, along with the stand-alone novels Silence the Dead and The Black Cage. His body of work spans mystery, true crime, and short fiction, with stories appearing in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine and in anthologies edited by literary heavyweights including Michael Connelly and Charlaine Harris.
Over the course of his career, Jack has been nominated for multiple Shamus Awards — for Best First Novel, Best Novel, and Best Short Story — a testament to the lasting impact of his storytelling within the crime writing community.
In addition to his fiction, Jack has written two business books (which he jokingly notes are “best marketed as sleep aids”) and contributed columns to the Chicago Tribune Sunday Magazine and other regional publications. His writing reflects both a sharp investigative instinct and a wry, self-aware humor that readers have come to love.
His forthcoming projects continue to expand his range, including a short story anthology and a true-crime work titled The Murder of Mary Jane Reed.
The Big Touch marks Jack’s first collaboration with Genius Publishing — a partnership we’re proud to celebrate.
Please join us in welcoming Jack Fredrickson to the Genius community, and stay tuned in the coming weeks as we share more about The Big Touch ahead of its March 20 release.
We can’t wait for you to step into his world of intrigue, suspense, and unforgettable characters.

Welcome, Jack.
Welcome, Jack. You have an impressive body of work.
